vichealth’s 3-year investment in activating underutilised spaces, will deliver a major program of work aiming to really move the dial to empower young people to get active in their community. we’re focusing on regional and rural victoria and outer metropolitan melbourne. and we’re working with young people every step of the way. young people have told us that they face some challenges in getting active in their neighbourhoods and they want more options for activities that meet their needs. we are calling out for providers who can transform community spaces to be hives of activity and think outside the box, to respond to our request for tender (rft). this will kick-start vichealth’s 3-year investment in activating underutilised spaces. this major body of work aims to provide new opportunities for young people to be active in a way that is designed by them, for them - by transforming spaces within communities that are not currently being used to their full potential. and we’ll continue to work with young people every step of the way this project aims to activate spaces within communities that are currently not being used to their full potential. these spaces will be activated by the provider - and other partners – by providing new opportunities for young people to be active in a way designed by them and for them. consultation and co-design with young people is central to this aim, and the success of the project. vichealth’s investment outlined in this rft will cover the cost of engaging a provider to design, manage and implement activities that can be delivered at no cost or low cost to participants to reduce the impact of cost and financial circumstances as a barrier to participation. this may include sub-contracting suitable partners that can deliver these activities at local sites, such as sport and active recreation delivery organisations or deliverers/facilitators.
