⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement :

① The system should consist of personal computer terminals, mobile terminals, cloud-d virtual desktop terminals, printer service, file service, general virtual machine servers for education, lecture-capture, management and distribution service, equipment for advanced information education, and network access equipment to advance the use of ICT in teaching and learning, aiming for general and advanced information education and self-learning at Kyoto University.

② The system must allow all of faculty, staff and students in Kyoto University to be registered for use. The total number of accounts must be more than 40,000 to assure the annual overlapping between freshmen's accounts and graduates' accounts (more than 40,000 accounts in total). The system must use Kyoto University Integrated Authentication System in authenticating registered users. The multimedia terminals (physical and mobile), virtual desktop terminals and file service must be available by more than two thousand users simultaneously with sufficient response.

③ The system must support classes for undergraduates and graduates with required functions and performance to advance the use of ICT, including general and advanced information education and student's self-learning at Kyoto University.

④ The system must have widely used and up-to-date software and services for information and media processing environment and must be composed of hardware devices on which the software can be operated with sufficient performance.

⑤ The system must have software and services required for general and advanced information education, self-learning and interactive learning.

⑥ The system should be able to act sufficiently when a due protection of personal information or a measure about information security was required.

⑦ The system must be highly reliable, and stable operation must be possible.

⑧ The system must be able to connect with Kyoto University Integrated information Network System (KUINS) and the Internet, and communicate inside and outside the university through them.

⑨ This system is operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The system supplier must have an organization responsible for quick and perfect system maintenance in which system failures to be promptly and perfectly handled. The system failures must not interfere with classes.

⑩ The system must have labor saving and energy-saving devices with better capacity for smooth and effective operation and management of the system.

⑪ The system supplier must sufficiently support the university during and after system installation.

⑫ The system must be able to smoothly take over the current processes and services, and all the related data resource from the present system.
