This proof-of-concept study will explore how the development of a North East Life Science Manufacturing and Innovation Zone can support the achievement of the North East Health & Life Science Strategy 2030 vision and goals. It’s anticipated that the LSMIZ will support the achievement of the strategic vision and goals through: • Identifying and bringing forward a pipeline of existing and new projects through the LSMIZ development process. • Support investment into individual projects through strengthening and de-risking investment propositions through integration with the LSMIZ. • Leveraging new investment into the region through amplifying and growing awareness of regional assets and developments through the promotion of the LSMIZ. • Increase the number of inward investment enquiries through providing external stakeholders visibility of development sites and projects that seek investment. Attracting increased investment from Government through providing departments such as, Office of Life Science and UKRI visibility of how investment in key LSMIZ developments/projects can enhance the UK’s sectoral competitiveness.
