germany-northeim: engineering services./ flood protection gronau (leine)./ due to its location on the leine, the city of gronau (leine) is repeatedly affected by flood events and the associated flooding of the built-up areas. parts of the urban area are located within the hq100 flood zone (nlwkn 2020), which was provisionally secured in 2011. the flood protection measures implemented so far represent an improvement in the situation, but they do not offer complete protection against major flood events (e.g. hq100). in order to reduce the impairments and damage potential caused by flooding, a flood protection concept for the gronau area was developed in 2017 (geum.tec, 2017). the goal is concrete protection of the built-up areas from flooding of the leine. the present design planning (richter & geum.tec 2020) is d on the flood protection concept and is now to be continued. technical information on the flood protection measure: 160 m planned dam height approx. 1.7 m length of angled retaining wall approx. 170 m planned wall height approx earth dam approx. 285 m planned dam height approx. 1.55 m length of supporting wall approx. 365 m planned wall height approx
