Defra is seeking a means to more accurately calculate space occupancy and utilisation across Defra Group properties to ensure we do not breach fire or welfare regulations whilst striving to accommodate all our staff and stakeholders whilst maximising efficiencies. In order to do this accurately we must understand the number of people in an office at a given period of time (occupancy) as well as how often the office is used, by whom and for what purpose (utilisation). Knowing both metrics is critical to assure accuracy in forecasting space required to support our customers; budgeting and future opportunities to cut costs, services, etc.
