Highways England wants to ensure that archaeological remains are preserved and recorded, in advance of scheme construction, by commissioning appropriate archaeological expertise. Archaeological services are required to deliver protection and preservation measures as well as excavate, record and disseminate the results of the archaeological mitigation works including Public Archaeology and Community Engagement.
