The Institute ha a requirement for Academic Personal Assistants.  The primary role of an Academic Personal Assistant (Academic PA) is to assist a student with a disability with their educational support needs.  The hours of work are expected to range from between 4-45 hours per week d on a 30 week Academic Year, delivered by 1-2 people per student.  Services requirement is Monday – Friday.  There may be a Saturday requirement for exams.  The hours will be agreed with the Institute subject to the needs of the student and the programme tible.  The main service period is from September to December and from January to the end of May; however, there will be downtime during this period i.e. Autumn and Spring Breaks, Easter break, Christmas and bank holiday weekends.  The number of Academic PAs required each year is subject to the number of students needing this service.  Please note that the number of hours above are not guaranteed and may be subject to change d on the students tible and the number of hours that the student is required to be in attendance on-site at IT Tralee.
