Carlisle City Council owns, manages and maintains approximately 430 hectares of green space across the Carlisle District, mostly focussed in the urban area. There are 66 parks, play areas and nature reserves in Carlisle together with three cemeteries, Talkin Tarn Country Park at Brampton and several closed churchyards in both the city and rural areas. Following the successful completion of a 36-month work agreement for the provision of arboricultural services in the Council’s green spaces there is now a requirement to revise and renew the agreement for a further 24 months (with possible 12-month extension). The Council is seeking to appoint suitably experienced and qualified contractors to two distinct lots which form the work agreement – contractors may bid for positions in both lots if desired.
