The Peninsula Children’s Services Partnership is a long-standing collaboration between Somerset County Council, Devon County Council, Torbay Council and Plymouth City Council. The partnership aims to secure excellent and innovative services for children, young people and families through sub-regional collaboration. The work of the partnership includes joint commissioning of placements for children and young people in care. In 2018 the key activity was the re-commissioning of the contract for residential children’s homes.

As per the original tender launch in 2018, a second entry point will be opened up in July 2020. This entry point is for any new providers to join, along with allowing current providers to add additional provisions. Successful bidders at this opening will gain access to work referrals for the remaining 2 years of the contract.

For current providers, who do not want to add more provisions, no further action is required.

We are aware that these are unprecedented times and that for those providers who genuinely will not be able to apply, there will be an additional chance in the near future to join the work. We would encourage all those who can apply to do so at entry point 2.
