Ideally, we would like the analysis to show that a zero-carbon energy system is 1) technically possible and 2) economically feasible for Ireland.
We expect this research to use energy systems modelling to include at least two energy scenarios:
1.    A reference scenario
2.    A zero-carbon energy system scenario

The modelling should quantify the profile of a zero-carbon energy system against the Reference case across various metrics such as:
•    Carbon Emissions
•    Energy mix
•    Comparison of technology options for renewable electricity to decarbonise heat and transport
•    Security of Supply
•    Energy Import/ Energy Exports
•    Installed Capacities for all plant type
•    Interconnection capacities
•    Level of Dispatch Down (energy balancing, constraints and curtailment) for variable renewable electricity
•    Air Quality
•    Total energy system costs, ideally broken down, for example by:
•    Capital Investment
•    O&M costs
•    Fuel costs
•      Wholesale electricity prices
•      Jobs
