Strokestown Park is a unique historic property in Co. Roscommon, comprising a Georgian Palladian Mansion, the National Famine Museum and Archive and approx. 100 acres of historic gardens & woodlands.
Working collaboratively with the Property’s owner Westward Holdings, the Irish Heritage Trust brought forward a vision for the development of the Property and secured planning permission for the capital project which will see the existing Famine Museum at Strokestown Park transformed into a new state-of-the-art National Famine Museum, as well as the construction of a new visitor centre and associated works.
Planning Permission for a design proposal has been obtained from Roscommon County Council which will protect this important historic property whilst delivering a new and significantly enhanced visitor experience.
