⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement :

A The system must consist of hardware and software which meet the following requirements in order that the system can manage the library functions, provide online catalogue in Kobe University, digitally publish the resources and the materials that Kobe University holds, and realize integrated search function for the above-mentioned data.

B The system must provide the functions as below. Management of master files,serials acquisitions and tracking holding, cataloging, circulation, interlibrary loan, management of assets, the OPAC which provides the ability to place holds on the items and to make inter library loan requests, and so forth.

C Various resources and intellectual outputs in Kobe University must be digit alized, stored and disseminated through the system. The data must be produced according to the types of resources in the system. The data within this system must be searchable by other systems and the system must be able to provide required data for other systems.

D The users of the system can search cat aloging data, data of digital archives, e-journal sites and various bibliographic datas with sophisticated functions. Besides they can make searches with the same interface.

E The system must collaborate with other systems in Kobe University.

F The users can access to the system by using standard Web browsers anytime 24 hours a day.

G The system must have a sufficient storage capacity and backup functions.

H The system must have a sufficient information security at networked environment.

I The system must be maintained by an or ganization that assures prompt and appropriate responses.
