Notice is hereby given by the City of Burnaby of its intent to contract with Bellwether Coffee for the supply, delivery, and installation of one (1) Bellwether Roaster.
The estimated total amount of this contract is $66,500.00 USD plus applicable taxes.
The City of Burnaby did not call for competitive proposals for the following reasons:
· Bellwether Coffee is the manufacturer of the Bellwether Roaster;
· It is the first zero-emission, electric, integrated and automatic roasting system in the world, that the City is aware of, which aligns with the City's plan to achieve carbon neutrality;
· The Bellwether Roaster will not require any gas line installation, any special ventilation systems or permits, or a separate space to operate; and
· It is easy to program and operate and will not require a dedicated coffee roaster that a traditional coffee roasting process would require.
Companies wishing to to this decision should EMAIL a letter of ion presenting specific reasons for their ion by 3:00 p.m., local time, June 30, 2021.
