⑶ Type of the procurement : products to be rent

⑷ Basic requirements of the procurement : Large-scale Parallel Computing System for Nation-wide Shared Use must be composed of (A)Parallel Computing System, (B)User-management and Statistics-management System, (C)Network Service System, and (D) System Administration Supporting System. Parallel Computing System is further composed of ⒜Computing Cluster, ⒝Frontend Server, ⒞File Server, and ⒟Software.

A.Parallel Computing System

a.Computing Cluster

Computing Cluster must have the following two node groups.

1.Computing node group

Computing nodes group must be composed of multiple computing nodes, each of which has multiple CPU cores.

2.Accelerated computing node group

Accelerated computing node group must be composed of multiple computing nodes, each of which has multiple CPU cores equipped with accelerators.

b.Frontend Server

Frontend Server must provide functionalities for monitoring and controlling jobs executed on Computing Cluster.

Programming-support environme-nt must be available on Frontend Server.

c.File Server

File Server must have large-amount of storage and provide high-performance parallel file-system functionality.

File Server must enable low-latency and high-performance access from Computing Cluster, Frontend Server.

d.Software

Programming languages, exemplified by FORTRAN, C, and C++ optimal for both CPU and accelerators, and its corresponding programming and tuning-supporting software stack including auto-parallelism and tuning processing must be prepared.

Message passing libraries conforming to MPI 3.0 more must be equipped and available for multi-node processing on Computing Cluster.

Job management system that has functionalities to interact with User-management and Statistics-management system must be deployed.

B.User-management and Statistics-management System

User-management and Statistics-management system must offer the functionalities for obtaining and administering system users, utilization and charging information through the interaction with Parallel Computing System (A) as well as our center's existent supercomputer system, PC cluster system for large-scale visualization, large-scale visualization system.

User-management and Statistics-management system must be an Web application targeting both administrators and system users.

C.Network Service System

Large-scale Parallel Computing System for Nation-wide Shared Use must have safe, stable, high-performance, and high-speed networks that the inside and outside of it.

WEB server, DNS server, mail server must be prepared as virtual servers.

D.System Administration Supporting System

A fileserver for our center's system administration works must be set up.
